Thy name is…. OpenMandriva.
So it was fast? hmmm.
Let me introduce a little: As you know OpenMandriva Association (OMA) started a quest to find a name for it’s Linux distribution, that involved the Community and then a voting of the Knights in the OMA and all the Cooker Active Developers. The persons involved in the voting ascended 68, and the voting rate was of 59%, from whom 73% were developers. It was asked of people to pick five names from a list and then rank them. From that, and after a rank based analysis the following top 5 was reached: OpenMandriva (17,2); Moondrake (13,4); OpenMDV (7,4); Lomax (7,2) and ROMA (5,2).
Today at 14:00 UTC the OMA Council plus the OMA Advisory Board (includes the Linux Project Leader Board) met and accepted this voting, deciding that the name of the future OpenMandriva Linux Distribution will be… OpenMandriva.
